It is all in the Prep work and cleanup for exterior painting
We feel preparation is the key to a quality job. If all the prep is not done properly a job can fail. Here are some tips when preparing an exterior painting job.Side of house
Cleaning-A surface prior to painting should always be cleaned (i.e. pressure wash the areas, hand wash or sand and dust or some combination of all).
Wood repair-Fill in gaps or cracked caulking in wood trim or dissimilar surfaces.
Scraping, peeling or Flaking-Paint will always be scraped off and the remaining checked edges will be “feather edge” sanded to help hide the transfer through to the finish coats. Our crews work hard to contain any paint flakes, wood chips or debris and clean up after themselves daily. We take pride in maintaining a neat work area and leaving the home clean and in order.
We will always complete our preparations to a homes’ exterior before we begin applying finish coats of paint. Mike’s Quality Painting will always make sure all paints are applied to ensure proper coverage. All exterior paint jobs carry a full 3 year labor and material warranty so you never have to worry if the job will last.
So if you are looking for an Albuquerque painting contractor or doing it yourself make sure you always remember the prep work is preformed and your project will look great and last long!
